Since it’s my birthday on April 24th, I had a few dollars to go to Book Outlet ( the retail store) and I also had a 15% off coupon to use. Well that’s all fine and dandy, I pick out some books, browse the isles and go and find my mother and son. We head to the check-out and they ring up my books. I go to get my money out of my pocket and can’t find it. A $50 bill which I knew was in my pocket since I didn’t bring in a purse is missing. Not in my sweater pocket or my jeans pockets. I’m silently freaking out and say that I will go look in the car (even though I know it wouldn’t be in there). As I am searching relentlessly in my bag, wallet and under the seats, I turn up empty. I go back inside and my mother is waving the $50 bill saying she found it. I let out a huge sigh of relief. She says “don’t worry, it’s a God thing”. I ask her where she found it and she says the religious section. Which is the last place we were when I went to get her before check-out. Now I’m not a religious person at all (surprisingly since my mother is) but I have to say; was that a coincidence or power of prayer? Man, oh man was I happy. I thanked her and told her she earned herself some supper. I also bought her books for her as an added thank-you.
