Fear Me

Wow, this book is intense. Really, really good! But intense. I couldn’t put it down. I read it within twenty-four hours and loved every minute of it. It’s a big and long book but I powered through it, turning page after page because I couldn’t get enough of it. The writing is good, the plot was awesome and the characters are memorable. I do have a lot of mixed feelings about what I just read though because I was both turned on and mortified by the way Keiran treated and acted towards Lake. I mean, that’s why it’s fiction right? We secretly have these fantasies that we live out throughout our books. Doesn’t mean I want my husband to hold a knife to my neck while giving it to me but damn does it get me hot and bothered while reading it.

Lake Monroe has always been fearful of Keiran Masters. Ten years ago he pushed her off the money bars for no reason at all. Everyday since, he’s been tormenting her. Last year, Keiran was arrested and sent away to juvie. Now he’s back and he wants revenge and he’ll stop at nothing till he gets it. Senior year, he has made it his sole mission to know exactly where she is and what she’s doing at all times. Isolating her and breaking her down, Keiran is very controlling and dominating. He has these deep, darker issues that lie well within him than just simply “hating” Lake. No one just hates someone for no reason, and the more you read the more you find out.

There was a crazy twist about three-quarters of the way in that made my heart stop. So many questions are answered but then so many are not. Book one leaves off with a cliffhanger open for book two, Fear You. I am super curious but also terrified to see what happens. I will just say that it leaves off with Keiran not so happy with Lake..again. Book one is told in Lake’s perspective and I believe that book two is told in both Keiran and Lake’s. I’m a little more excited to read Keiran’s thoughts and feelings since he is so damn controlling and moody all the time.

Just like the description says, this book is not for the faint of heart. It’s dark, terrifying, suspenseful, intense and dangerous. It could also be hot, sexy and swoony at times as well. This is definitely for MATURE readers. I would not want any young people reading this book. It’s not for young eyes. There is quite a bit of violence, sex, language and trigger points. And I don’t mean a few scenes here and there. No, it’s throughout the entire book. So if you can handle all that then I would highly recommend this book for something different than your typical love story.

This isn't another "I hate you because I secretly love you" story... ...Boy really does hate girl. And this isn't just a forbidden love story. This is obsession at its darkest.

I don't believe in fairy tales and Prince Charming. I believe in fear. He taught me how to be afraid. We first met on a playground on a wonderful summer day. It was the first time he hurt me and it wouldn't be the last. For ten years, he's been my tormentor and I've been his forbidden. But then he went away, and yet I was still afraid.

Now he's back and wants more than just my tears. You see...he thinks I sent him away so now he wants revenge...and he knows just how to get it.

PLEASE READ THE WARNINGS: This book is a new adult and contains rough elements such as harsh language, mild violence, strong sexual content, alpha male, antihero, blackmail, and dubious consent. Fear Me, in all, contains sensitive themes many people aren't able to swallow.
