If I could give this book more than five stars, I would. I loved this book so much!!! It’s so funny, it has great characters and a perfect love story about opposites attracting, and to never “judge a book by it’s cover.” It’s written by thirteen different great authors, and if you weren’t aware of that before, you would never know. It’s flawless transitions between chapters is perfect. Everyone did such a great job with keeping within the same writing style and the level of funny, sexy and seriousness all together. I just can’t get over how funny both Hudson and Verity are. They are witty, sarcastic, and make this book so entertaining.
Verity works as a receptionist in New York. On her way home one day, she took a cab ride home and some tattooed, god-like man jumped in the back with her. Already feeling like this guy is a drug-dealing criminal, he jumps in the front seat of the cab when the driver gets out to argue with another driver and he drives off with her in the back still. Remembering where she said she lived, he pulled up in front of her building and they both got out. Leaving the cab in front of her building, he walks away from Verity who is still basically in shock over what just happened. The next day, at work her boss said he was waiting for a package to be delivered by the new carrier. Sure enough, in comes Tattoo with a messenger bag strapped to his back. Having just been day dreaming about his sexy tattoos and abed body, she is shocked to see him. Being the flirt that he is, he made her sign for the package and said he’d be seeing her soon.
As the days went by, Verity started seeing more of Hudson both in her dreams and in real life. Every time they met, he is charming and flirty with her. He asks her out on a date and has this beautiful night planned out for them. They spend more time together and like any normal couple between people opposite of each other, there is drama ensued. How they get through it all is what makes this book so great. It’s sexy, funny, serious, and definitely swoon-worthy the entire time.
I loved both of the characters, but I really fell for Hudson. Who wouldn’t – he’s hot as hell, with tattoos all over his body – and I mean, all over. Not just one or two, but literally on his neck, arms, torso, hands, and fingers. He is smart, charming and funny. He’s passionate, sensitive and, so adorable, that I think I have found my new book boyfriend. Verity is also a smart, funny and a passionate girl. She loves photography and working hard at getting what she wants. I love these two characters banter back and forth on Twitter. They make such a great couple and I love to see two different people coming together.
I am so impressed with this book and the authors that wrote it. I wish that it was longer or that there was another book to read afterwards. Having read some of the authors already, I am sure to be checking out the others that I have not. I would recommend this book to everyone who wants a quick and easy romance with some serious laugh factor involved. It’s New Adult as there is sexual content that shouldn’t be read by younger readers. Give this book a go because there’s no reason not too.
