Rule

This book was alright. I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it either. It’s made up in dual perspectives in first person. I think it was too long for what the story was about and it just seemed to drag on in unnecessary parts. The grammar was terrible and there were spelling mistakes all throughout. I also found that her dialog was too long. There were too many long, one-sided conversations. I will say in her defense that at the end of her book she does address the situation. She claims it was last minute and it was edited poorly.

Shaw is blonde, beautiful, smart and she comes from money. Rule is full of piercings, tattoos, he’s tall and sexy and he doesn’t give a shit what anyone thinks. They couldn’t be anymore different from each other but Shaw has loved him since the first time she’s met him. After a drunken night, Shaw confesses her secret and Rule sees her in a different light. They work on becoming a couple and trying to make it work.

I don’t think I’ll read the companion novels. I just don’t find her books that interesting enough to continue on. I also don’t think I would recommend this book to buy. It’s more of a borrow from the library and return kind of book.

Shay Landon loved Rule Archer from the moment she laid eyes on him. Rule is everything a straight-A pre-med student like Shaw shouldn’t want – and the only person she’s never tried to please. She isn’t afraid of his scary piercings and tattoos or his wild attitude. Though she knows that Rule is wrong for her, her heart just won’t listen.

To a rebel like Rule Archer, Shaw Landon is a stuck-up, perfect princess – and his dead twin brother’s girl. She lives by other people’s rules; he makes his own. He doesn’t have time for a good girl like Shaw – even if she’s the only one who can see the person he truly is.

But a short skirt, too many birthday cocktails, and spilled secrets lead to a night neither can forget. Now Shaw and Rule have to figure out how a girl like her and a guy like him are supposed to be together without destroying their love… or each other.
