Sparrow by L.J. Shen

I love everything about this book, I wish it was longer. L.J. Shen’s books are flawless. Her writing style just flows so nicely, her stories have depth to them. The characters have such complex personalities and their chemistry is off the charts. I flew through this book like it was the last book I’d ever read. One thing I absolutely love about L.J. Shen’s books is that her male characters are hardcore alpha’s. They’re mean, they’re rude, and they like to be in control.

Troy Brennan is probably one of the most alpha male’s I’ve read before. He’s most definitely a bad man, some call him “The Fixer”. He runs legit business’s, but no one really knows what else he does. He’s got a bad reputation and he’s not to be messed with. Troy is very good-looking, he’s wealthy, and apparently fantastic in bed.

Sparrow Brennan is Troy’s new wife. She is ten years younger than Troy and nothing like him at all. She is sweet and innocent, she likes to cook and give back to the homeless. Sparrow can be feisty though, as she has a snarky side of her. Get in her way and she’ll tear you a new one.

Secrets, betrayal, drama and angst. All good things to come out of a romance novel. Each chapter to keep you on your toes, turning the next page. The sex is great, and the love is warming. My emotions were running high, I didn’t know if I was going to come back down. There were many times while reading Sparrow where I didn’t know where the book was going to take me. I didn’t know if I was going to swoon, laugh, gasp or even cry. That is what I really love about L.J Shen’s books. You get everything you can imagine with her words.

This book is definitely not suitable for young readers. There is a lot of descriptive sex scenes, violence and scenes that may offend some. If you’re new to L.J Shen and haven’t read her earlier work, you will definitely want to pick this book up. I have read most of her work and I can’t get enough of it.

Troy Brennan

Every southie in Boston knows that name. The son of a dead mobster. The heart throb with steel blue eyes. "The Fixer" who can make or break you in this city.

Oh, and my new husband.

Sparrow Raynes

That's me. No one seemed to remember my name up until he barged into my life.
But then he caged me.
Kidnapped me.
And killed every chance I had to runaway from the place where we grew up.
Put simply, Troy Brennan clipped my wings.

I have dreams, big ones, but I doubt he'd ever let me chase them. I have no idea why he'd decided to take me as his wife. But I do know this: pissing off this man will not do me any good. At all.

Sparrow is a standalone, full-length novel. It contains graphic violence and adult situations some may find offensive.
