Ugly Love

I love this book so much, it only took me 2 nights to read it the first time, and then a second time right after. I felt a lot of emotions while reading this. Sometimes it’s hard to review a book without giving away any spoilers and this is one of those because I feel like to really talk about it I need to explain how I feel about some things but they are definitely going to give things away. But none the less, I thought it was funny, intense, heartbreaking, it was also uplifting and sexy. I cried. Like actually sobbed and I never cry while reading books. Maybe a tear here or there but never actual crying. I also laughed a few times, and I also felt hurt emotionally by some of the actions that take place.

I have to say that Tate, our main girl is witty at times. But I found her to be quite stupid… I don’t know if I should say stupid because the choices she makes anyone could make… Miles is a tall, attractive guy and when he says he wants just sex then hell, why not… but I think that the way Miles treats Tate and the fact she lets it happen is why I call her stupid. Miles is an emotionally unstable person. His exterior shows he’s a strong willed man who is a pilot and has no time for a relationship but on the inside he is hurt, scarred and unable to love.

I love the writing in this book. The intimate scenes are hot and sexy. Detailed just enough to leave a little room for imagination. The dialog is perfect and it’s dual perspective in first person. Tate’s perspective and Miles but 6 years previous. You really get a sense of why Miles is the way he is and it all makes sense in the end. I would totally recommend this book but it is a new adult novel so mature audiences only. This is my first Colleen Hoover book I read and I can’t wait to dive into her others.

When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.

They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly
